At Advanced Orthopaedic Services (AOS), we are committed to assisting physician practices with recovery services to ensure comprehensive patient care following surgery. We prioritize patient well-being and strive to provide seamless support throughout the recovery journey. Below, we outline our services and the process we follow to ensure an efficient and effective experience for our patients.

Pre-Surgery Coordination:

    • Prior to surgery, our team at AOS will proactively reach out to each patient to discuss available services and reserve a spot on our schedule for the day after discharge.
    • To facilitate smooth coordination, patient schedules need to be submitted to AOS at least 2 weeks in advance of their surgical week. This allows us time for benefit verification of insurance and direct patient contact to discuss recovery needs.
    • Our intake fax number is (770) 664 – 8626. Late schedules are accepted, but we cannot guarantee staffing or DME delivery for late submissions.

Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Orders:

    • For surgical patients requiring items for their recovery, AOS will submit standard DME orders. Standard items include a walker with wheels, a bedside commode, and a single-point cane.
    • To ensure timely service, a signed order is required for the provision of these services. Other recovery items can be ordered if they are part of an MD post-op protocol.
    • Please note that while we submit orders promptly, delivery is coordinated directly by the DME Agency, which will discuss insurance coverage, collect payment/fees, and set delivery dates with the patient.

Communication and Coordination:

    • AOS maintains regular communication with the physician team by submitting an AOS Tracking List weekly. This list details the recovery plan for each patient and aids in the coordination of care.
    • Additionally, the Tracking List is submitted to the hospital/surgical facility’s Care Coordination Team (Social Services/Case Management) to ensure seamless care transitions.
